RAGAMUFFIN CATS: GENTLE, KINDHEARTED, AND LOYAL

RagaMuffines originated from the same family of cats as the Ragdoll, and have similar personalities and characteristics, being that they are very trusting souls, almost to a fault. Ragdolls were founded as a breed, by Ann Baker; however, a number of breeders broke away from the Ragdoll breed, forming one of their own. As a result, RagaMuffins are allowed both point and solid colors, and have rounder heads, and shorter muzzles. Different patterns are also allowed in this breed.

TRUSTING TO A FAULT

According to Elisa Jordan, (Love Muffins: Cat Fancy: November 2008), it never occurs to these gentle cats that anything, or any animal might harm them. Therefore, she recommends that this breed remain inside. Like Ragdolls, they are gentle, docile, and not able to defend themselves. It is their nature to consider everybody, dogs, cats and humans, friends.

RagaMuffins are moderately active, and love interaction with their people, and other animals; however, they are less vocal and active than the Siamese or other similar breeds. While the cats love play, they will not be climbing your curtains or becoming extremely noisy. Their long beautiful coats are also low maintenance as compared to solid Persians, and may be similar to Himalayan Cats. My Ms. Frances, a Himalayan Persian, only has to be combed about once a week, or less often. The cats enjoy being groomed; however, their coats do not mat easily, or tangle.

SOCIAL ANIMALS

RagaMuffins will greet you at the door when you return home, and scamper about to play wherever you might be. They adore attention, and crave companionship, so if you travel often, or work long hours, you might need to make another selection, or hire a sitter when you are away. If you have time to provide your RagaMuffiin with love and lots of attention; however, he or she might be just the pet for you.
